Atara is the mother of the elves, goddess of fertility and patron of motherhood. Though primarily an elven deity, she is honored by many women of other races as well.
Atara's clergy is exclusively female, and traditionally the priestesses eat a special diet that causes them to gain a great deal of body fat, emulating their patron goddess in form as well as spirit, which also allows them to use their own bodies as their divine focus for clerical spells.
Atara is said to have given birth to the first elves, creating them in her own divine body from spirits of nature given to her by her friend Kyne.
